Week #4: Complementary Colors

To be shot and submitted between Sunday, Jan 18 and Sunday, Jan 25 (noon, Eastern)

color-wheelSee the color wheel? “Complementary colors” are simply 2 colors that are opposite each other on the wheel. For example, blue and orange, or green and red.
Complementary colors are important to pay attention to, because when situated together, they POP! (Ever notice why Christmas sweaters are so “loud?” It’s the green/red combo!). Opposing colors increase the eye’s perception of each. This week, we’re going to ask you to keep an eye on the colors all around you and see if you can find (or arrange!) a scene that showcases some complementary colors, and demonstrates how well they POP! (Sorry, Snap and Crackle, it’s not your week…).
