It's Week #3: Greetings From...

To be shot and submitted between Sunday, Jan 10 and Sunday, Jan 17 (noon, Eastern)

And now it’s time to show us where you’re from (currently living, or currently travelling)!

You can choose a famous spot in your hood, or you can document something few people know about but a meaningful spot for you. You can simply portray what you feel the ‘essence’ of your country is, or capture the colors of your city. How you do it is up to you, but we’d love to see where you all are from!

Make it creative. Have fun doing it. Lose the box.

Looking for more inspiration? Check out our previous album, from 2015 or check out this New York Times project from 2013, in which teenagers from across America photographed their hometowns. And of course, The Googles!

Extra Credit: Blue Hour Long Exposure

For some extra credit joojoo, try your hand at a long exposure during the beautiful window of time called “Blue Hour”! Blue Hour is a ~40 minute window of time, shortly after sun sets (or shortly before the sun rises in the morning), when the sky has a strong bluish tint to it (many refer to this time as “twilight”). This setting is perfect for capturing a landscape scene, or even capturing your town’s artificial lights, as they flicker on, in preparation for the nighttime darkness rolling in.

Check out the Googles for some inspiration on how lovely this time of day (my favorite time of the day, I might add!).

Remember, it is not necessary to work in this Extra Credit piece. It’s extra credit!
