Sadie challenges me in so many behavioral ways, but because of her black fur, she also challenges me in photography. And that's a good thing.
Photographing a black dog is a lesson in light and shadows for me. All these years, and there is still so much I'm learning and challenging myself with.

    I totally agree, black dogs are incredibly difficult.  What a cute expression!! The catchlights in Sadie's eyes really make them pop.  Gorgeous.

    Wonderful, overblown whiteout on this image.  It looks almost graphic.  I particularly love the way her eyes show the white part under her irises, giving her such a mournful expressions.  With that huge negative space, this could be a postcard or even an inspirational poster with words in gold letters on the left.
