    Great shot of the Woodpecker, I am impressed with the texture that you have captured in both the tree and the feathers of the bird. I think the DOF works well to create the blurred background. As a shred I would crop slightly differently to compose a stronger rule of thirds image. The lighting is great, it looks like a spot light shining on him!

    Great capture of a busy bird. You stopped the bird in time perfectly with a good area of focus. I think the composition would read as rule of thirds more if the tree was cropped off on the left side, putting the main subject more to the left side.
