“ witching stick ”
The time between spring melt and spring blossoms can be quite dull colour-wise along the forest paths here in Calgary. However, from time to time when the light is just right a bit of magic appears. So it was when the witching stick caught my eye.

Nice light on the witching stick and good contrast with the back ground. I know them as water divining rods.

Fascinating to see the sharp contrast in color here under such soft lighting conditions. It really is striking. No wonder they are considered witching sticks.
