Here's the myth my niece wrote in response to this image: As I came to the Great oak, i sat down exhausted. I was sure this was where they told me the great spirit resided. I take out my water skien and prepared to lift the last droplets to my mouth and I heard just barely a whisper, Sssspppare a drop ffffooor aa ssssisssssteerrr....? I was startled and dropped the skien to the ground, watching the last drops soak into the earth. THHHHAANNNKKSSSSS COMPAAADDREEEE, I heard. Suddenly, I was bathed in the Golden Light of the heavens and the Earth trembled below me, the roots of the Great Oak became great serpents wavering about me. "You have traveled a great distance weary Warrior you have blessed me with what I desire, how can I repay you" I prostrate myself before the great oak serpent, daring to lift my eyes to the trunk. "Sophia! Mother earth, queen of all that is living! All I ask is for your blessing...my child...." "ssssaaayyy no mooorrreee" ....I am overcome with peace. I know the fever has gone from my beloved daughter. I gather as many Wild honeysuckles I can and pile them at the base of the oak that has now gone still, Roots submerged Underground. Hopefully this is enough moisture for the goddess to enjoy as I made my way back home.

Wonderful capture. Truly looks like a mythical creature slithering out of the tree. Lovely texture and detail.
