    I think you're being a bit harsh on yourself--it's a good photo, especially considering the time frame of posting. (Spring might have given you a greener lawn--if that's what you were looking for.)

    The wind did a nice job of opening up your flag. The clouds help give the illusion of movement. I like your leading lines; the cut grass is an unexpected addition, drawing a line straight to the flagpole.

    Since you are playing with photoshop, you might like this in black-n-white. But overall, I think this is a really nice tribute shot, and your dad would be pleased with it.
