Very nice choice of subject, Heather! I like the fence post with the little bit of snow on it. I also really like the shade of blue you've chosen for the sky. The one suggestion that I would make is to compose the post a little off-center, maybe on the far right rule of thirds line, rather than dead center. It adds a little more interest to the composition and is sometimes a little more appealing for the viewer. But, overall...very nicely done!

Nice and simple. I feel like this image invites the viewer to imagine the rest of the fence and the landscape around it.
