Week 42: Black And White Minimalism, 2022

“ Fall Sans Color ”

I definitely admire Fall's brilliant colors but never thought to photograph the season in black and white. I was on an evening walk and loved how all was dark except for one ray of sun highlighting this fallen leaf. I found beauty in this and I felt black and white made it even more so.

I like this photo for exactly the same reasons you do. It’s interesting when the light singles out just a few of some thing when there’s so many more… In this case leaves… That stay in the dark. I like the angle of the dark leaves kind of on the diagonal. A good way to capture the scene.
