My house was built in 1945, which I guess was pretty rare that year. On the front door, we have this really cool locking mechanism. If you push the tumbler, it creates a block for using a key. We can't figure out exactly how it works, so we keep it set the way it is so we can lock our door, lol...

The house I grew up in had door latching mechanisms like that. I had not thought of them in decades until now. Nice image.
