I really like your composition. In my more recent years, I've loved to read, but just on my kindle. Too bad for me, because books ARE really beautiful. RE: your flash issue. I've never used my flash on my Fuji. I try to set the exposure with the dials, manually. Do you use Lightroom at all? If so, you can play around with the sliders, and the "White Balance (WB)" at the top of the Basic panel to get the colour that you like.
