“ Hidden Staircase ”

My husband and I live in a house that was built between 1890-1910 (there's conflicting records). Yesterday we uncovered a servant's staircase that had been walled and floored in for decades. Much to our surprise there was the original wallpaper, bead board, and a door!

I love the feeling of mystery that this image provokes. The lines all draw your eye to the door knob and make you wonder what's behind the door. Good use of lighting… more
