    Nice perspective, those of us who live in similar climates rarely look up at icicles from directly underneath.

    There are more experienced photographers and photo-editors on this site than me. I think you would get better contrast in direct golden hour sunlight. And, I wonder if the icicles would have more contrast if your depth of field was just wide enough to bring the entire icicles into focus.

    If you use Lightroom to edit your photos you might be able to boost the contrast with the clarity slider.
