    Gorgeous photo Ruth.  The composition and depth of field are what really stands out to me. You might could tweak the lighting, but I love it as is!

    I love this shot Ruth! I too can relate! One suggestion, maybe bring up the shadows to enhance the details of it, that's about all I can think of to push this to the next level.  It already gives me a feeling of being beaten down and exhausted, and when an image creates emotion, I think you've nailed it.

    Great use of depth of field to isolate the pepper. The subtle lighting accentuates the wrinkles nicely also. Alternative photo idea: Remove the stem and shoot a photo of the pepper on someone's tongue or in their mouth preparing to eat it? ?
