This is a powerful image. I think the black and white, the posture, and position within the frame really helps convey the feeling you wanted. One of the people closest to me has been sober 13 years now. I have seen this face before, so this image speaks to me personally as I watched my dearest friend go through their struggle, recovery, and newfound life. Thanks for sharing.
