    You certainly captured the details and tonal contrast of the heron's feathers.  I have to agree with Benno Jones that the rails are distracting; they are very bright and distract from your subject.  Perhaps editing the photo to show more of the lake water behind the heron and cropping out the rails would have enhanced the subject even more.
