“ Cotton Boll ”

I was scratching around for an image this week, but then remembered that I had bought a branch of cotton bolls for decoration. I think that the dried, brown centre contrasts beautifully with the fluff of the surrounding cotton fibres.

Lovely detail with a nice muted gray background. I’m glad you left part of the branch in the image to keep in naturalistic. Since your focus was on the “middle”, might have been good to pull those fibers back a bit to show off that central star.
