“ Alexanders ”

Alexanders (Smyrnium olusatrum) is an early-flowering wild plant in the UK. This week I found it growing profusely at Whitstable on the North Kent coast, beginning to envelope boats that been drawn up on the shingle beach for the winter and contrasting beautifully with their colours.
