“ End of The Road ”

This is a portion of a sunken highway which is normally about 30 feet underwater most of the year. The lake is drawn down as a flood prevention measure in the winter. The original route of US 220 was abandoned and covered in 1969 when a flood control dam was built. Sections of the old highway ...
