“ Sculpture by Lothar Fischer ”
Large Seated Female Torso - what a name.

I had remembered that there is a sculpture with a chair nearby. I drove an extra 20 miles to get there. I no longer remembered the object as such.
I would love to see this sculpture photographed so that it looks beautiful.
I can not...

Well, the Torso is kind of chair shaped. Nice flat knees, at least. Definitely not your typical piece of art. I do like the deep mahogany color and the striations along the sides. And then, there's the navel.  Which brings up the question: did Adam and Eve have navels?

What an interesting sculpture. I can't decide whether I love it or not but I can't stop looking at it because it is crazy interesting.

The lines are playing with me in this. I can see it is straight vertically but the horizontal lines are off but it seems that it is one of those things that straighten one, and make the other crooked as not everything in life has a straight horizon line.

I am not sure how (if at all) I would have shot it differently but I am really glad you went out of your way to shoot it so I could see it

What an interesting sculpture ... not sure if creepy or beautiful, especially considering the name ?. I like how you composed it, but to give the headless lady a bit more "fame", like Karen suggested, a wider aperture, could have blurred out the background. Lifting the shadows on the sculpture itself would also help. And - you are so right ... imperfection is key. And - who decides what perfect actually looks like??
