“ Spiked ”

These are spines on a Saguaro cactus. They protect the cactus from being eaten by animals and provide insulation from heat and cold. Saguaros can grow to be over 40 feet tall and have a lifespan of 100-200 years.

Fantastic shot. I just love these cacti and how they grow so big, provide homes for little birds and other animals. They’re very cool. Love your macro.
