When I was a kid back in the 50's, there were a couple of stores uptown that had gumball machines, with trinkets mixed in with the candy. Insert a penny, turn the handle, and wait to see if you were lucky enough to get a trinket or two with the candy. I had a tin full of these trinkets back ...
