“ Crumpets ”

I was intrigued by my breakfast this morning with the different textures on the crumpets with the melted butter and the holes of the crumpets.

A bit of strawberry jam on top would be delightful. But I digress. I do like the way I can see the contrast between crisp edges of crannies and soft melted butter. I really wish the depth of field were greater so I could continue to feel the sharp texture from edge to edge - as it fades in focus it softens, taking away from the feeling of crispy texture. The angle of light is good for capturing the buttery peaks. The golden color of light is fitting for a warm morning vibe.
