I'm still here and almost into my 8th year. I'm seventy-six and beginning to accept, if not appreciate, those lines in my face. I'll always remember a remark made by a fellow bookclub friend. We were all talking about cosmetic surgery and she called the lines around my mouth "marionette" ...

To my eyes this is a very fine image, framed just right, and certainly not lacking in sharpness. I have the Lensbaby Sol 22 and I find that it can be tricky to get the focus (manual only) placed exactly where it needs to be and then adjust it for maximum sharpness. Just something about the fiddling and tilting the lens and turning the focus ring, all at the same time. Easier when on a tripod, of course. But your image proves that fine detail is achievable. This is beautiful, and your choice of b+w makes it even more so.

I like the composition of your photo, Carol, and also the lighting and your concentration. I try to accept my wrinkles, but it’s hard. I also have marionettes and even worse, vertical lines above my upper lip that I hate.
