The contrasting colours do their job well in this photo, which is a good thing. This same comment applies in the reverse - I find the bright green grass at the bottom of the picture draws my attention away down to the bottom of the frame. Perhaps a decrease in brightness (like a graduated fill) would allow the viewer's attention to flow from the blue lake toward the warmer tones at the top of the frame.
