This brought tears to my eyes when I first saw this and again now. I can't begin to imagine your loss. As a tribute to the memory of your beautiful son, this is wonderful. Beautifully balanced and I like that your note is the one in sharpest focus.

I think many of us were prepared to see many of these kinds of letters in this week's album. But some are harder than others to contemplate because of age or circumstance or recency of the loss. Our art form has such emotional immediacy in it. Robert Frank told us all from his time: If there is anything the photograph must contain, it is the humanity of the moment. If there is another important message here, it is the profound importance of the 'tangible.' These items you have photographed are meaningful, and I hope comforting, to you because they are there. They are physical, touchable. I fear for us all that these are becoming so confined to virtual space that their meaning will dissolve into digital dust as we each slip our own mortal coils... Thank you for such a meaningful contribution this week.
