    As we watched its path, and reports of damage to friends’ homes and beloved spots in my hometown filtered in, I cried. I cried the next morning when the extent of the damage became aparant and I’ve cried in gratitude as I watch the community come together to repair the damage. 

    Wherever you were and however the storms impacted you, Tuesday was scary. Even if we are physically fine and our homes are in one piece, the night took an incredible emotional toll and it’s important that we acknowledge that. 

    On Wednesday, I went out and took the photo of the flower because - by some miracle - it was still there. It’s not perfect. It’s lost some of its petals and the others are damaged but it’s still hanging on. And so are we.
