This is a great photo and I specially like how the shadows build a frame around the bird so that he stands out even though he is small. The only improvement I can think of is that I would have tried to correct the vertical lines.

You're so lucky to have a little bird family in your yard to watch! I love birds - one of my favourite moments since moving back to Australia was when a bird went in my bird bath the first time!  I love the warm wood tones of the photo and the way you've timed it so that the shadow acts as sort of frame directing your eye to the bird.

I expected a mouse, and got a bird! It's a lovely capture, really a freeze-frame of the life of this little bird, and his house.

He is so cute. It looks like he has a doorbell for his perch. I like the lighting and angle of the photograph. It adds so much interest to the photo. I bet your son loves watching them take food to the babies as well.
