    This is a great photo and I specially like how the shadows build a frame around the bird so that he stands out even though he is small. The only improvement I can think of is that I would have tried to correct the vertical lines.

    You're so lucky to have a little bird family in your yard to watch! I love birds - one of my favourite moments since moving back to Australia was when a bird went in my bird bath the first time!  I love the warm wood tones of the photo and the way you've timed it so that the shadow acts as sort of frame directing your eye to the bird.
