Ms. Hollern: Can one have a favorite raptor? The osprey--one of the world's largest "river hawks" and at home in most states in the Union--has always been mine. (And it doesn't get nearly enough the ornithological "press" eagles, falcons, and owls seem to. You made my day with this majestic image (in your beak, American  bald eagle) that captures its power, beauty, structural perfection for grasping fish, and the dynamics of flight. The cropping is great, good call on the balance of f/stop and shutter speed, and I appreciate how the background colors compliment the striking makings of Pandion Haliaetus. 'Completely deserving of inclusion in this week's 52Picks...even without my very slight bias.) ?
