“ Brandt’s Cormorant ”

It’s the beginning of courtship for this colony of Brand’s Cormorants. This one is flaunting it’s breeding colors.
I’m overlooking a wall on the Coast Walk in La Jolla. Cormorants nest along the cliffside here with the Pacific Ocean at their feet. Makes for great photo opportunities!

Beautiful bird Tricia and love the eye color matching the water. Would have been more ideal if somehow you were shooting from a higher spot.
