Today I took Valentine Photos of my boys. I am still learning lighting and therefore am having a hard time getting really crisp shots. Also, it was crazy with my 3 boys and my 3 year old niece so everything was fast snaps, lol! I set my Aperture at 2.8, as low as my lens allowed. I also used ...

This is a fantastic portrait (what a smile!) with a really nice balance of focus and blur. The pose is great and I like the catchlight in his eyes. The sync speed for most flashes is around 1/200, beyond which the HSS may drain your speedlight batteries faster. Definitely one for the family album!
