“ Gatekeeper to the Unknown ”

Visiting Bateman's, Rudyard Kipling's Jacobean mansion, this kind lady became our guide for the first tentative steps into the unknown. Kipling paid £9,300 for this ancient and gorgeous house in 1902 - a vast sum of money!
