“ Black and white in Nature ”

I was skiing on Mount Herman and saw these bud like flowerings in the trees against the snowy white backdrop and the drama of it really caught my attention

Great subject for black and white. The contrast is striking ... very dramatic. I agree about the cropping. I'd like to see at least a bit of space on either side of the budding plant in the foreground. Lovely shot.

I like this. It's certainly dramatic and very beautiful. A lot of contrast. I have little experience of shooting in the snow (and it may be my screen) but the white balance doesn't feel quite balanced. I am not sure if it's the 52F compression but I'd watch for the cropping, either showing all the buds on both sides or cropping into both sides equally. How wonderful to find such subjects in your everyday environment.
