“ BlueNote ”
I’ve been encouraged to work on creating my own lighting and thought this challenge would afford an opportunity to get started.

I thought most would use DOF focused nearest to farthest so I thought I would try the opposite approach.

I need to figure out editing but for a ...

I love the colours of the lighting! What did you do to get this lighting effect?

Another innovative idea, especially with the use of colour and how you've tried to create a frame to look through. I might have cropped the left and right edges a bit so you can't see the outside edge of the framing object/s. As Kay has mentioned, it's a little bit distracting. It's also a shame the chair(?) cuts through the top and bottom of the saxophone, as this is your main subject, I'd like to see its uninterrupted shape. Maybe a different choice of frame or moving the sax further away would allow you to get it all in? As mentioned in our mini group, if you took 2 images, one with and without the chair/frame, you could combine the 2 images selectively, leaving out any parts that infringe on the subject.

Nice approach to try something different. I’m trying to figure out what you’re shooting through. Chair legs? Not quite sure what to think of the blue lighting. It makes for a great contrast to the gold of the foreground, but the blue light spilling onto the chairs (?) distracts me. It might just be a matter of tidying up. Keep innovating!

I really like this approach to DOF.  Only thing I would say is that the small light/white circle in the upper left is a little distracting but otherwise great composition.
