    Lovely lighting. The green head of the mallard just pops! I can't do my long lens hand held anymore. A monopod and the Wimberley MH-100 MonoGimbal Head has been my lifesaver. Especially the monogimbal. You might want to check it out.

    Nice!  I hear you - I have the same long lens but generally go out with my 70-300 kit lens (on a crop sensor) because it is so much easier to manage.
