My idea was black pasta on a black dish for dark, moody food photo. I searched for a tutorial on the lighting and found a good one that involved using foam core to block the light source in places and only allow it in through one spot. It also suggested dark foam core opposite the light to block any reflected light. I will definitely do this lighting again, but I don't like that my pasta looks wormy and my basil like a limp green blob. Not what I envisioned but a good learning experience.

I love this, beautiful lighting and the fork is just at the perfect height and composition. Thank you for sharing the pull-back for the lighting, I'm going to try this lighting out as we have a food competition at our camera club and this is sooooo moody, love it!
