“ The other side ”
I really wish I would have dimmed the lighting from the other side more but didn’t have time to fix it. Interested in your thoughts on the brighter elements in the shelves, please. After much back and forth, I decided to leave them for dimension. Good call- or does it detract too much from the ...

I instantly enjoyed the lighting...the peering thru the door lighting...my eye did go up towards the R to the Van Gogh light...and just a lil also on other side to that white vase on top.  But I am just saying it cause you wanted to know..it doesnt interfere with the overall image...but if those two were dimmed a bit..it would help keep eye on that beauty of the subject ! I esp like that line of white light from the door..keeps it all a mystery and interesting !! Nicely done !!

In my opinion, there is no diminishing of the door interest due to the brightness of the elements on the shelves. I do agree, though, that dimming the light source behind the door (maybe by about 1 EV) would have rendered the door itself in a better, more pleasing way, especially since the door is a pretty stark white (or at least appears to be). My judgment about the shelves being fine might change if this was rendered in color, but B&W was the better choice for lots of reasons. And I like how the wood or tile floor shows some reflectance. Nicely done!

I really like the way you have and do not at all think the window area is too bright. It has a lot of interest!
