This is very interesting and indeed mysterious. I like the effect the pine needle veil created and I like your composition. Shooting movement is challenging, so I am keeping that in mind, but my only critique would be that the trees in the background seem to be in focus while the bike rider is not. If you were using autofocus, that could be why. I would just suggest paying attention to that going forward. Good job!

I like the idea of a "veil." Often people suggest using lace to shoot through as it creates some cool patterns. Nice work stopping motion here. Like everyone says the picture is dark. It also seems to have blur. Your shutter speed is high so I wonder if the blur is from an unfocused camera. You can shoot moving things easier with AI Servo mode instead of one shot. When your subject is moving, once you focus it then the camera tries to keep up with the movement. Maybe this helps? Have fun with the next challenge.

this photo spoke to you, which I think what our art is - for ourselves hopefully more than others.  That being said, I agree with the others that it is a bit dark, and I wish it was a little less blurry.  That being said, it obviously worked for you, and great that you tried several things!  I like the idea you had to shoot through the pine needles!
