We went for a hike on Thanksgiving morning, and a big snowstorm was set to roll in that evening. Despite the late start and cold temps, the wildlife was out in force. Maybe they knew a storm was coming, so they were out, eating and enjoying what clear weather they would get for the next 48 ...

This was my second favorite photo. This chickadee was not afraid of humans and just wanted to eat all the crumbs of our summit snacks. I was able to use my 55 mm lens… more

This was my second favorite photo. This chickadee was not afraid of humans and just wanted to eat all the crumbs of our summit snacks. I was able to use my 55 mm lens for this shot, because the bird was coming so close to me and just sitting still. It was really fun to photograph a bird up close.
