    I can see the look you were going for, and I think you nailed it. As for your camera and lens, I have the same lens for my R6, and had thought seriously about the R10 as a second body to replace my 7D Mark II. I think the issue you're seeing is because of over saturation of the red, something my Canon's tend to do. (Yes, even my beautiful R6) Perhaps pulling back a bit on the saturation might help with the softness you're seeing? But your pose and framing work nicely here to help tell me a bit about you. A great gritty portrait!

    So moody.  I like it.  Great job keeping at it.  The color really adds to it, but it seems a little blown out to me too.  Pulling back from the light… more

    So moody.  I like it.  Great job keeping at it.  The color really adds to it, but it seems a little blown out to me too.  Pulling back from the light may have softened it just a little.   Playing with this kind of lighting really grows your skill.
