“ Hero ”

My beautiful mother! She was so uncomfortable behind the camera as she doesn’t know her own beauty. She is the most beautiful person inside and out. I don’t typically edit black and white photos so I watched a few tutorials and this was the result.

Beautiful lighting! The only think to try to improve is to have her eyes less shadowed. Great balance of lights and darks. Wonderful details an textures. I can see why… more

Photographing ones parents can be very challenging, especially when they are so uncomfortable in front of the camera :) (I have the same issue with my folks)

This worked out really well and I like the fact you didn't put her in the middle of the frame. One gets guided directly to her eyes, which I think is the most important for such a portrait like this.

Also good job on the black and white! I think you did a great job in editing this even if you're not used to it!
A recommendation I can give is that you can find several b&w presets in both Lightroom/Photoshop that works wonders if you're not that great at editing :)
