This is a double story. First- this is a brood cicada, newly hatched. Most cicadas (green eyes) emerge from the ground in an annual pattern. Brood cicadas have a longer pattern and have red eyes. Our area is one of 2 states that will have a historic hatcch of annual, 13- year, and 17-years ...
