new to all of this. I wanted to try the mirror selfie, but didn't work out so well. honestly, I have no clue to what I am doing. A friend that invited me to the FB page let me use her studio to help me try to get a good shot. Think it turned out ok.

    Maybe experiment with a different aperture so your eye and the camera is in focus?

    Hmmm, from the light and the stubble growth, I'd say this was taken at about quarter past three, yeah? ? Seriously though, the background is well, a great backdrop and your eye is nice and sharp. Only suggestion would simply be to try moving the light direction around, low key from the side etc? Great photographer portrait!
