“ Lighting the Advent candle ”

With today’s first Advent Sunday, I thought it would be fun to do a low-key shot of lighting the first candle. My very patient partner lit a number of matches as I tried different exposure settings. No fingers were burnt in the process of making this photo!

I very much like the soft golden glow on your hand and how the light naturally trails off towards the right hand side. The surrounding areas are dark but not completely black, which nicely adds depth...
