I recently picked up a zoom lens and have been having fun getting to grips with it. A lot of new subjects become possible - wildlife is particularly fun, and previously they would have run away when I got too close. It's also an adjustment that with a zoom lens the DOF can easily be too shallow ...

Hmm, I'm having second thoughts about my submission. This hawk is doing much better on Mastodon & Pixelfed. I chose the blackbird because it's pin sharp and it really pops against the background, while the hawk's a bit softer.
