“ Proud and happy neighborhood protector ”
Another fun assignment this week. So many choices from flowers, to tree trunks to fire hydrants. Judi and I were doing our annual stroll through Commonwealth Avenue in Boston to admire the gorgeous display of Magnolias in full bloom. Right beneath one of them in front of one of the majestic ...

A poem for the hydrants and the blossoms:                            anthropomorphism

Along majestic avenues where fire hydrants stand,
    Anthropomorphically they share their stance,
They wear a face, a seductive guise,
Yet humor sparkles in their “bolty”eyes.

With bolts for eyes and valves for ears,
They chuckle at life’s passing years.
In colored coats, they stand not so tall,
Guardians of humor, one and all.

Their metal hearts beat in the night,
While laughing hidden out of sight.
They watch as dogs come sniff and pee,
    Their laughter now ceases silently.

So next time you pass a hydrant’s post,
Imagine the jokes that they like humans boast.
    For in their anthropomorphic look,
Resides a protector, who squashes fires by the book.

So every springtime’s bloom, when the air is sweet,
Magnolia blossoms and cherries in bloom meet.
Along tree-covered avenues, a sight to behold,
Remember to stroll along, stories with ease forever will be told.

Great shot Carlos! Another friend of mine posted a fire hydrant as well which looks like a fireman but from a different angle. I love the creative take on your shot!
