“ Man made puddle? ”
For my second year flying around the 52 Frames’ sun I wanted to post a photo that made me really happy, even if I added my own puddle. So, this has been another cold and snowy week here in Massachusetts. While there has been some melting and real puddles here and there I did not see something ...

Here is my poem: while walking on the snow looking for a puddle I lost my balance and slipped, hence the poem! 😝 THE PUDDLE AND ME

Here is my poem: while walking on the snow looking for a puddle I lost my balance and slipped, hence the poem! 😝 THE PUDDLE AND ME

First, I imagined it was big, gigantic,
Like a portal to a different dimension,
Where perhaps a fish from another universe
Swam around with a worried face.
I even thought of a glorious jump, elegant,
Reaching the other side without a stain on my shoes,
Just like an urban and defiant hero…
(One who does not take risks, in the end fails to win).

But the reality was so much less poetic:
It was just a puddle, mediocre, even tasteless,
A reflection of thin and unexciting water
With just a wilted leaf limply floating atop.
    I jumped…and it was tragic.
    This traitorous puddle sought vengeance,
Like an aquatic ninja expert in these matters.
In one fell splatter it baptized me.

Later, under the warm shower water, I pondered:
Was this all a subconscious message?
A metaphor of a cruel destiny?
Or just basically, more obviously or simply,
Just a puddle, so obvious, and a silly slip,
With an injured ego and my dripping skin?

Wow!!  Great shot and metaphor, Carlos.  Hope you don't take that walk for a long time.
