    I'm normally not a sepia fan except in very specific types of images. I wouldn't have thought sepia here, but it is exactly right for this image. It gives that retro look that a straight B&W wouldn't. I like the detail on the candle enclosure and the soft, but not really out of focus, background. You nailed the depth of field for this composition. My only critique is with that hot spot just behind to top of the candle holder. It draws my eye but since it is so close to the top of the holder, it does kind of provide a starting point for the eye to explore the image. I'm not really sure why I don't like it other than the fact that it is so high in the image.

    That is really a nitpick though. I think that the image works well and the sepia choice is better than the other options.
