“ A light in the Darkness ”
My husband's family came from West Virginia Coal Mining Country. This is a very old coal miners carbide lamp.Carbide lamps are powered by the reaction of calcium carbide and water, which creates gas, a flame. I set the lamp on a v flat in my studio. A flash was used with a diffuser.

    I love the lighting and the colors of this, I can almost feel the texture! I don't know if it's me, but I feel like the subject is slightly more to the left side. I wish it was completely centered or more to the right side, since it's facing left.
