“ Memory ”

On a recent visit to the Liberty Memorial WWI Museum I learned about why the Sphinxes had their eye's with their wings.
the East (France)- Facing Sphinx is shielding it's eye's from war.
The west facing Sphinx, Shields it's eye's from the unknown.
